Medical Calculator Disclaimer

Before using the calculators
Results are indicative and may contain errors. They are not a diagnosis, prescription, or treatment instruction. Do not use a result as the sole basis for a decision about someone’s health.
1. Educational purpose and free access
PediMath is a free, noncommercial project that provides calculators, charts, and references for consultation and learning, primarily by healthcare professionals. It does not provide medical services, evaluate patients, or establish a doctor-patient relationship with its operators, developers, or contributors. These tools do not replace an individual assessment, clinical judgment, or care from a qualified professional.
If you are a patient, family member, or caregiver, do not use these tools to self-medicate, administer medication, change doses, or start or stop treatment. Consult the professional responsible for the patient’s care.
2. Independent verification before any clinical use
A professional consulting a result must independently check the entered data, units, age, weight, dates, and population covered by the reference. They must compare the formula, interpretation, and result against current clinical sources, official medication information, and institutional protocols. A result displayed correctly on screen does not demonstrate its clinical suitability.
For dose calculations, also verify the indication, administration route, product concentration and formulation, frequency, duration, dose per administration and daily dose, maximum limits, allergies, interactions, contraindications, and renal or hepatic adjustments. The calculators do not include all of these factors. Tablet or volume equivalents do not establish that a product can be safely divided or measured. Verify critical calculations using another method and, where appropriate, another professional.
3. Limitations, errors, and no clinical guarantees
Results may be affected by input, unit conversion, rounding, programming, table transcription, reference selection, or interpretation errors. Percentiles, ranges, and thresholds describe population references and may not be appropriate for an individual patient. The tools do not account for every clinical condition or detect every error or risk.
No guarantee is made that every result is accurate, complete, current, error-free, or suitable for a particular clinical decision, and no health outcome is promised. This description of limitations does not exclude warranties, rights, or duties that applicable law makes mandatory.
4. Emergencies and urgent decisions
Do not rely on PediMath to manage an emergency or delay a consultation, diagnosis, or treatment while using it. In an emergency, seek medical care or contact local emergency services. The site does not provide patient monitoring or immediate responses to questions or reports.
5. Availability and reference updates
The software and references may change, and access may be interrupted or fail. A cited reference may have been revised or replaced before the tool incorporates that change. Continuous availability and the inclusion of the latest publication in every tool are not guaranteed. If you cannot verify the reference or suspect a discrepancy, stop using that result and consult an independent source.
6. Sources and external links
Sources, brands, institutions, and external links are included to facilitate consultation. Their mention does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or validation of PediMath by those entities. External content may change and must be checked at its original source; a citation does not guarantee an error-free implementation of a formula or table.
7. Scope of responsibility and legal rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, PediMath and its operators, developers, and contributors do not assume liability for harm attributable exclusively to incorrect user-entered data, use outside the tools’ stated purpose, or clinical decisions made without the independent verification described in this notice. Professionals retain the duties associated with their clinical practice; this notice does not transfer to them any legal liability belonging to the site’s operators.
Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability for intentional wrongdoing or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. It does not waive nonwaivable rights or protections available under Mexican law and other applicable provisions. The project’s free, noncommercial nature does not itself remove legal duties that may apply.
This notice describes the site’s purpose and limitations. Merely browsing the site or using a calculator is not presented as a waiver of rights or acceptance of an absolute release from liability. Liability in an individual case is determined by applicable law and the circumstances of that case.
8. Error reports and questions
If you identify a possible error, do not use the disputed result. Report the tool, example inputs, units, and observed result. Use fictional or anonymized data; do not send patient names, identifiers, medical records, or other personal information. Reports are not medical consultations and are not handled as an emergency service.
